Owner of Allen Opticians operates as a dedicated eye doctor's office and optical store serving the Pearl River, NY community. The practice focuses on delivering personalized eye care, from comprehensive eye exams to eyewear selection. Team members work closely with patients of all ages, helping them understand their options and feel comfortable throughout their visit. The environment is professional yet friendly, with an emphasis on clear communication, reliability, and high-quality service. The Office Assistant in the eye doctor's office/optical store supports daily front-desk and administrative operations to ensure a positive experience for patients and customers. Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling and confirming appointments, and checking patients in and out. The role also involves verifying basic information, collecting payments, handling insurance-related paperwork as directed, managing patient records, and maintaining organized files. The Office Assistant helps keep the reception and optical areas tidy, assists with simple eyewear selection or order follow-up, and coordinates with the optometrist and optical staff to keep the schedule running smoothly. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pearl River, NY.
Qualifications include:
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, courteously, and professionally in person and by phone
  • Basic office and administrative skills, including appointment scheduling, data entry, record keeping, and hand payments accurately.
  • Comfort using computers and common office software; ability to learn practice management or electronic health records system.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage paperwork, maintain orderly work areas, and follow office procedures consistently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and optical staff.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Prior experience in a medical office, optical store, or customer-facing retail environment.
