Dental Office Manager - Operations, Insurance & Team Leadership Smoky Mountain Dental | Maryville, TN Full-time | Approximately 38 hours per week $27-$33 per hour, based on experience Smoky Mountain Dental is a growing, privately owned dental practice looking for an experienced Dental Office Manager who can help lead the front office, strengthen systems, and support the continued growth of the practice. This is more than a traditional front-desk management role. We are looking for someone who is strong in dental insurance, team leadership, organization, accountability, and problem-solving . We are open to either an experienced Dental Office Manager/Practice Administrator or an exceptional Dental Insurance Coordinator, Treatment Coordinator, or Front Office Lead who is ready to step into a larger leadership role. What You'll Own Oversee dental insurance systems, claims, EOBs, denials, A/R, credentialing, and fee schedules Lead, coach, and develop the front-office team Create and maintain clear systems, workflows, and accountability Monitor key practice KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement Help develop a reliable system for tracking and improving treatment case acceptance Monitor new-patient conversion, unscheduled treatment, recall/reactivation, schedule utilization, and other front-office metrics Oversee internal marketing initiatives including patient referrals, Google reviews, membership growth, and patient reactivation Improve treatment follow-up and patient financial communication Help maintain a productive doctor and hygiene schedule Identify problems, develop solutions, and follow projects through completion Help reduce the number of operational details that require direct owner involvement Resolve patient and team concerns professionally and constructively The Person We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you are: Highly organized and dependable Comfortable with dental insurance and revenue-cycle management Strong at following through and closing open loops Comfortable with numbers, KPIs, and spreadsheets Able to coach, delegate, and hold others accountable Calm and professional during conflict or stressful situations Comfortable receiving and giving constructive feedback Naturally focused on improving systems rather than simply completing tasks Willing to respectfully challenge ideas and help prioritize what matters most We especially value someone who can hear a goal, understand the desired outcome, and independently help figure out how to get there.
