Job Description
An established and growing pet care organization is seeking an experienced Manager to lead the daily operations of one of our premier pet care centers. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, building high-performing teams, and driving business results. The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader with a strong background in hospitality, retail, veterinary, boarding, or pet care services and has a proven ability to lead people, manage financial performance, and create an outstanding experience for both customers and their pets. Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day operations of the center while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and pet care. Recruit, hire, train, coach, develop, and manage a high-performing team. Foster a positive, engaging, and accountable workplace culture. Deliver exceptional customer service by building strong client relationships and resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of all pet guests. Develop employee schedules while effectively managing labor costs and payroll. Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely approvals. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment and workplace safety regulations. Conduct safety training and promote a safe work environment. Complete employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development. Manage inventory levels, purchasing, and accounts payable. Oversee facility maintenance to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Monitor financial reports, key performance indicators, and center profitability. Manage cash handling procedures, daily reconciliations, and bank deposits. Execute local marketing initiatives and community outreach programs to drive business growth. Maintain an active presence on social media by engaging with customers and promoting services. Collaborate with corporate support teams, including Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Facilities, and other departments. Perform additional operational and leadership responsibilities as needed. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of management experience with full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility. Experience leading teams in hospitality, retail, veterinary, pet boarding, daycare, grooming, or another customer-focused service industry. Demonstrated success in coaching, developing, and motivating employees while driving operational excellence. Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, payroll, inventory management, and accounts payable. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business management software. Veterinary, boarding, daycare, or grooming experience is required. Physical Requirements Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Frequently lift up to 40 pounds. Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Frequently climb stairs and move throughout the facility. Safely handle dogs on leashes. Operate computer systems and multi-line telephone systems. Work in an environment with exposure to cleaning products, animal dander, and pet-related environments.
