Supervisor ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementProvide direct, hands-on leadership and mentorship for the CVT/VA team, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance managementBuild and maintain nursing schedules, and coverage plans that support consistent, high-quality patient careLead regular one-on-ones and check-ins focused on communication, trust, and team cohesionModel calm, steady leadership that helps the team navigate change and grow stronger togetherClinical Standards & Patient CareEstablish and uphold clinical protocols and nursing care standards across the hospitalOversee patient monitoring, treatment administration, anesthesia support, and surgical assistanceEnsure compliance with drug handling, controlled substance logging, and inventory control policiesPartner closely with the medical director and veterinary team to maintain consistent, high-quality careTraining & Professional DevelopmentDesign and lead ongoing training and CE opportunities to keep the team sharp and engagedServe as a clinical coach and mentor for CVTs, VAs, and student externsSupport technicians pursuing specialty certifications and career growthCulture & CommunicationFoster open, honest communication and a collaborative team environmentActively work to strengthen morale, trust, and engagement across the nursing teamServe as a steady, approachable point of contact for staff concerns and team dynamicsOperations & ComplianceMonitor team retention, satisfaction, and workload balance, recommending improvements as neededEnsure compliance with all applicable veterinary practice acts, OSHA, and safety regulationsWhy join The VCA Wrightsville Beach team?
