Veterinary Practice Manager Full-Time or Part-Time-- Flexible Schedule Waukesha Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, dependable, and people-focused Practice Manager to lead our team and support the daily operations of our small-animal veterinary practice. The ideal candidate is a confident and approachable leader who communicates clearly, handles workplace concerns professionally, and is committed to creating a respectful and supportive environment for both employees and clients. Waukesha Animal Hospital is a family owned, privately operated small animal practice. We focus on building lasting relationships with our clients and providing personalized, comassionate care to their pets. Our high-touch, lower volume approach allows us to offer longer appointment times, communicate thoroughly, and give each patient and client the individual attention they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to the veterinary team
  • Coordinate employee schedules to maintain appropriate coverage and efficient workflow
  • Oversee recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training
  • Manage employee performance, coaching, feedback, and corrective action
  • Promote clear communication, teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture
  • Address employee concerns promptly, fairly, and professionally
  • Help develop, implement, and consistently enforce practice policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment, safety, and veterinary regulations
  • Oversee inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and supply management
  • Monitor inventory levels and help control costs and reduce waste
  • Assist with client service concerns and resolve difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Work closely with practice ownership to identify operational needs and support the practice's goals
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding employee, client, patient, and business matters
Qualifications:
  • Previous management or supervisory experience is required
  • Experience in the veterinary field required
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive or challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Experience with employee scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives
  • Proficiency with common office software and the ability to learn veterinary practice-management systems
  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations is preferred
Schedule:
  • Full-time or Part-time
  • Flexible schedule- 3-4 days per week.
