This position is located at a site on the East Side of Tucson. Hours are 8 am - 2 pm Monday-Friday The Medical Records Specialist provides excellent customer service to patients, providers and internal staff.
Responsibilities:
Answers telephone calls in a polite and professional manner Faxes reports to provider offices throughout the day Utilizes a variety of health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems Handles and routes requests for medical records, CDs, film or paper images and/or reports for delivery to referring physicians, clients and patients Documents the release of PHI in all appropriate systems Analyzes and reviews medical records for completeness and accuracy of documentation according to specified standards Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve electronic health information Initiates requests for prior images and reports from outside imaging facilities
