Job Description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to oversee the management and operations of document management within a hospital setting. The primary responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of legal medical records, scanning documents into a document management system, and managing various document processing and indexing tasks. Key Responsibilities Retrieve and reconcile records of discharged patients from all hospital units. Prepare documents for scanning according to departmental procedures. Scan documents into the document management system for indexing. Assist with management of document and EMR work queues. Verify and tag scanned documents for quality, rescan as needed. Evaluate and resolve discrepancies in documents. Ensure document types are consistently classified and placed correctly in the EHR. Create and verify patient encounters accurately for ambulatory indexing. Conduct patient interviews and verify vital records data. Perform document imaging and quality control. Qualifications Two or more years of experience in an acute care hospital with HIM experience. Experience with document management systems and computer/data entry. Proficiency in KSAs, EXCEL, Word, and basic computer operations. Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare team members. Preferred experience with Epic and OnBase systems. Schedule/Shift Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday with negotiable start times between 6 am and 8 am. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)). 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
