$21.61-$34.04 per hour Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to support Health Information Management operations in Chicago. This role helps maintain accurate patient records, process medical-record requests, and ensure health information is handled securely and according to applicable policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Maintain and organize electronic and paper medical records. Process requests for patient medical information and documentation. Review records for completeness and accuracy. Enter and update patient information in health information systems. Protect confidential patient information and follow privacy requirements. Coordinate with clinical and administrative departments regarding medical records. Assist with record retrieval, scanning, indexing, and document management. Resolve routine records-related questions and discrepancies. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Experience with medical records, Health Information Management, or healthcare administration preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential patient information appropriately. Basic computer and electronic health-record system skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
