Chest Medicine Associates Lead Medical Records Specialist South Portland, Maine Chest Medicine Associates is seeking a Lead Medical Records Specialist to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and clerical functions as they relate to the operation of medical records and supervising the medical records staff.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. 3 years of experience working with medical records in a medical office setting. Understanding of medical terminology. Proficient computer skills with electronic medical record experience. Familiarity with HIPAA and state regulations pertaining to healthcare records. Proficient computer skills with EMR database experience. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Reliable, motivated, team player. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work onsite in South Portland, Maine M-F 8:15-4:45.

Supervises Medical Records staff. Prepares patient charts in anticipation of appointment. Obtains patient medical records from outside systems for physicians. Retrieves patient medical records for physicians and technicians. Processes medical record requests and releases. Receives and scans medical records into electronic medical records system. Maintains database of all daily office notes. Sends outgoing records. Protects the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained. Chest Medicine Associates is devoted to specialty care in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. We have been caring for patients throughout Maine and southern New Hampshire for more than thirty-five years.
