Job Description

HIIM Clerk I
  • Medical Records Full-Time
  • 800A to 4:30P Monday
  • Friday No Weekends, On-call or Evenings Benefits after 30 days of employment PTO accrual at the start of employment Surgeons Choice Medical Center is looking for a HIIM Clerk I (Medical Records) to maintain medical records in accordance with Federal, State, and regulatory guidelines as well as hospital and HIIM policies and procedures to assure that an accurate and complete medical record is maintained.
Education/Experience High school diploma or GED required. One year of experience working in a Health Information Management, or the completion of at least 30 credit hours of a Health Information Management Associate Degree program preferred. Basic Windows-based computer experience required. Licensure/Certification None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Analytical skills necessary to review and assess deficiencies in medical record information. Ability to navigate and utilize basic computer software applications. Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange factual information with internal and/or external customers on a frequent basis. Ability to read, write and speak English and understand numeric filing. Ability to perform basic clerical duties that include operating standard office equipment including fax machine, photocopier, telephone, etc. Constant attention to detail to ensure medical record accuracy and completeness. Analytical ability to discern compliance with hospital and state requirements. Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
