Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems is hiring a full-time Release of Information Clerk. The clerk receives and verifies requests for medical information, processes all requests for medical information, and aids the medical records staff with any other necessary duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent. Must have accurate typing skills. Must have accurate spelling skills. Must have knowledge of medical terminology. Must have numerical and chart rotation experience. Must be neat and clean. Must be able to take orders and carry them out. Must have the ability to work and communicate with all departments of the hospital. Must be able to work with all equipment in the department: Copy machine (paper, fluid, toner) Typewriters Computers Microfilm Reader/reproducer Maintain confidentiality of information. Summary As a Release of Information Clerk, you will be a vital part of the healthcare team, ensuring the accurate and secure transfer of medical records. With core skills in medical office operations, EHR systems, and knowledge of medical terminology, you will be responsible for processing requests for medical information efficiently and maintaining patient confidentiality. Your premium skills in attention to detail and data management will be essential in organizing and verifying records for release. Your relevant skills in maintaining accurate documentation and typing speed will help you thrive in this role, supporting the smooth flow of information within the healthcare facility.   • Process requests for release of medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Verify patient information and authorization before releasing records.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive medical information.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to fulfill record requests promptly.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with medical record retention policies.
