This role will play a crucial role in enduring the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of medical records to support billing and compliance with healthcare regulations. Key duties include scanning/indexing records, verifying authorization for information release, communicating with medical providers to obtain documentation, and entering data into case management software. Starting Pay Rate $18.13

In office with hybrid flexibility after training Duties Organize, scan, index, and update electronic medical records (EHR) and paper files for claims Review records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with documentation standards Process requests for medical records, ensuring valid authorization and adherence to HIPAA, state, and federal laws. Communicate clearly with the insured and/or provider routinely to provide statuses and to request information. Input sensitive information into the claim system while ensuring accuracy.

• Proactively contact medical providers, clinics, and hospitals to obtain necessary documentation and follow up on requests. Demonstrate tenacity and independence with assigned claim work. Assist with clinical coding for insurance reimbursement, data analysis, and quality review. Maintain security of records through encryption and password protection, ensuring they are accessible for authorized personnel. Verify the authenticity and authorization of record requests. Participate in periodic audits to assess the accuracy and completeness of medical records. Proficiency in using EHR systems to manage and retrieve patient records. Job Requirements Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or training in health information management is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and legal requirements related to medical records. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills Other Qualifications General understanding of Medical and Disability operations. General medical knowledge and investigative skills. Proven work experience as a medical records clerk or in a similar role Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data entry. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and insurance documentation procedures. Interacting with claimants and insurance carriers as needed. Adjudicating moderate to complex claims.
