Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to support daily records operations for an orthopedic practice. This onsite role focuses on maintaining accurate documentation, handling incoming records-related materials, and assisting with disability form processing while ensuring timely service to patients and internal staff. This is a contract-to-permanent position for someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment and uphold high standards for accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate physician appointment-related record processing and keep documentation organized for daily clinical operations.
- Manage incoming faxes, route information to the appropriate destinations, and maintain orderly electronic fax folders.
- Scan, index, and electronically file medical records to support accurate and accessible patient documentation.
- Complete disability form processing tasks, including tracking form status and updating internal records as needed.
- Answer patient questions related to disability paperwork and provide clear updates on processing timelines.
- Collect applicable payments for disability forms and document transactions accurately.
- Prepare, batch, scan, and file records within the electronic medical record system while following established procedures.
- Use scanners and electronic records platforms effectively to maintain timely and compliant records management.
