Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of our medical office. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical documentation processes and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care through meticulous record management. Responsibilities Manage and maintain comprehensive patient medical records in accordance with privacy laws and organizational policies Input, update, and retrieve information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems with accuracy and attention to detail Ensure all medical records are complete, accurate, and properly filed or stored Assist with the organization of medical documentation, including lab results, imaging reports, and physician notes Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely documentation and record updates Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations Support administrative staff by providing necessary medical record information for billing or legal purposes as needed Experience Prior experience working in a medical office setting is preferred Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is highly desirable Knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices is beneficial Experience handling sensitive medical records while maintaining confidentiality is essential Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required for success in this role
