Job Description

Pre-Litigation Medical Record Clerk Loncar Lyon Jenkins is a fast-growing and innovative personal injury law firm located in Dallas, Texas. We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pre-Litigation Medical Records Clerk to join our team. The Pre-Litigation Medical Records Clerk is responsible for requesting, tracking, organizing, and maintaining accurate medical and billing records for clients' pre-litigation cases. Previous medical records or law firm experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and communicate professionally with medical providers, hospitals, attorneys, case managers, paralegals, and clients.
Job Duties:
Prepare and submit requests for medical records, billing records, affidavits, and itemized statements through multiple channels. Ensure requests are accurate and directed to the appropriate medical provider or department. Obtain and verify all required medical-record authorizations and supporting documentation. Communicate regularly with doctors' offices, hospitals, billing departments, and record-retrieval services. Track outstanding requests and conduct timely follow-ups to prevent unnecessary delays. Review received records and bills for accuracy, completeness, correct dates of service, and missing documentation. Upload, label, and organize records in the Firm's electronic case-management system. Maintain accurate and current notes regarding requests, follow-ups, and records received. Create and update medical-record tracking schedules, reports, and provider lists. Communicate the status of outstanding records to attorneys, case managers, paralegals, and supervisors. Protect confidential client and medical information in compliance with Firm policies and applicable privacy requirements. Meet established departmental deadlines and productivity expectations. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Medical Records Management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning new skills and an interest in the health care industry. They should be able to perform administrative duties and maintain confidentiality.

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
