Job Description
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience with medical office systems. This position is essential for supporting our healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records by reviewing documents for proper documentation. Process intake requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and other authorized entities. Assist in the training of new staff on medical record management procedures and systems. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely access to patient information while maintaining confidentiality. Perform regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health information management or related field is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical records management practices. Experience Home Health Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with patients and healthcare staff professionally. Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus but not required.
