Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Records Clerk, where your organizational skills and attention to detail will play a vital role in maintaining accurate and confidential patient records. In this energetic position, you will ensure the seamless management of medical documentation, support clinical staff with record retrieval, and uphold the highest standards of data integrity. Your proactive approach will contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and operational efficiency in a fast-paced medical environment. Duties Organize, file, and maintain comprehensive medical records in accordance with hospital or clinic policies and privacy regulations Retrieve patient records promptly to support clinical staff during appointments, treatments, or audits Input and update patient information accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring data consistency and security Verify the completeness and accuracy of medical documentation, including test results, treatment notes, and billing information Assist with scanning, digitizing, and indexing paper-based records into electronic systems for easy access and long-term storage Ensure compliance with all confidentiality protocols and legal requirements related to medical records management Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth record transfer processes when patients move or change providers Maintain organized filing systems and perform regular audits to identify and correct discrepancies or outdated information Requirements Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and proficiency in navigating digital medical records Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret and categorize documentation Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for managing large volumes of sensitive information Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and adhere strictly to privacy laws such as HIPAA Effective communication skills for coordinating with clinical staff and other departments Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with office software applications High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in medical records management are a plus Embark on a rewarding career that supports healthcare excellence through meticulous recordkeeping. $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
