Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs, medical history, and presenting complaints with accuracy and professionalism. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Collect specimens such as blood or urine samples for laboratory testing, utilizing phlebotomy skills when necessary. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with privacy regulations. Support medication administration under supervision, including understanding pharmacology principles relevant to various specialties such as dermatology or internal medicine. Conduct basic life support (BLS) procedures when required and respond promptly to emergency situations within the clinical setting. Maintain a clean and organized medical environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans across inpatient and outpatient services. Assist with ICD coding and medical records management to ensure precise billing and documentation processes. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and demonstrating empathy throughout the patient journey. Experience Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in clinical settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in medical office management tasks including scheduling, documentation, and electronic health record systems (EMR/EHR). Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to diverse specialties such as geriatrics, medical-surgical units, or internal medicine. Experience performing phlebotomy and medication administration within inpatient or outpatient environments. Familiarity with ICD coding practices for accurate billing and recordkeeping. Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced healthcare settings requiring attention to detail and multitasking skills. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to medical assisting or specialized areas are advantageous.
