(TEMPORARY) Chinatown Service Center - 3.0 Pasadena, CA Job Details Temporary $24 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Foreign language proficiency Record keeping Computer operation Medical office experience HIPAA Healthcare privacy protection Health information regulatory compliance Managing patient records Experience working with individuals with language barriers Medical terminology Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Job purpose The Medical Records Technician will be responsible for accurately transcribing and organizing patients' medical histories, symptoms and diagnoses, as well as categorizing treatments and procedures for insurance billing. This position primarily involves administrative tasks such as record keeping in a medical office setting. Duties and responsibilities Organize and manage patients' health information data. Maintain electronic health records (EHR) databases. Verify accuracy and accessibility of files. Ensure all files are secure. Must perform assigned duties in a fast paced, fluid environment. Adaptability and flexibility are required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum one-year experience in healthcare setting as medical record clerk, unity secretary, or similar position where the processing of medical/health records was part of the daily responsibilities. Demonstrate proficient computer skills and be comfortable learning new software programs. Knowledge of medical terminology and of regulations on the confidentiality of medical records (HIPAA). Thorough knowledge of health records functions. Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language environment and be able to work thorough translation services if not fluent in a language the resident understands.
