Files, locates, retrieves and delivers medical records as assigned. Supports and adheres to the company compliance standards. Responsibilities and Duties Protects the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained Accurately and timely make copies, mails and/or faxes patient chart information as requested including subpoenas, authorizations and record release Documents all processes Organizes and files all record requests Applies knowledge of privacy confidentiality requirements affecting individual patient/PHI Participates in appropriate meetings Multi-line phone coverage Qualifications and Skills Prior experience in a medical office or hospital environment preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and
ICD9 & 10
coding preferred. Computer records system experience. Must have advanced clerical training, which includes typing, basic filing skills and fundamental understanding of office procedures. Ability to set priorities for completion of daily work schedule. Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of it on all information. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent phone etiquette. Strong interpersonal skills. Computer skills.
