Required Qualifications Education:
HS Diploma/GED Experience:
If in Health Information Management, minimum of 1 year experience in medical record operating procedures and systems If in Patient Case Management, minimum of 1 year of experience in medical record correspondence, denial management or insurance claims Knowledge of medical/psychiatric terminology and documentation requirements If in HIM, knowledge of DSM IV Coding System Light typing and ability to operate PC for data entry/retrieval Orientation to accuracy and detail, strong organizational and communication skills essential Must be able to work with a variety of professional staff EPIC account experience, proficient payor Web portals

Key Responsibilities:
To enter medical record information into the clinical database and print reports for Health Information Management/Patient Case Management use and other departments. Enters patient information into the clinical database. Verifies data for accuracy. Produces reports via the Stargen system for accessing medical information for patient care, research and administrative purposes as needed. Produces via computer printer SPMI forms, Initial Evaluations, Closing Summaries, and other Medical Record documents. Tracks via computer log system the completion of SPMI forms, Initial Evaluations, Closing Summaries, and other Medical Record documents. Receives computer-generated Warning and Notice of Additional On-Call/Administrative Suspension Letters, and verifies status of outstanding documentation before forwarding letters to the appropriate clinician. Produces weekly statistical reports on admissions, discharges, length of stay and diagnoses. Registers and indexes all patients. Assigns medical record number and maintains manual admission log. Reports any errors in the database to the Assistant Director of Health Information Management. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

$30.00 - $34.00 per hour
