We are looking for a Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk to support document and workflow optimization efforts within a healthcare environment in Greenwood, South Carolina. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong hands-on knowledge of Epic with the ability to evaluate current records processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency. The person in this role will help assess how health information is managed, reduce unnecessary paper-based activity, and strengthen documentation practices across the department.

Responsibilities:

• Review existing health information workflows and compare current practices with available Epic functionality to uncover improvement opportunities.
• Examine records management processes to identify duplicate steps, gaps in documentation, and areas that can be standardized.
• Recommend practical ways to decrease paper-heavy activities by aligning daily operations with electronic record capabilities.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify how medical records are created, maintained, and stored across the department.
• Document findings, process observations, and suggested workflow enhancements in a clear and organized manner.
• Support efforts to ensure that appropriate information is captured within Epic when manual or paper-based workarounds are being used.
• Analyze operational pain points related to patient medical records and propose more efficient approaches for handling them.
• Contribute health information management expertise while working with electronic medical record platforms such as Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts as applicable.
