- Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist maintains the integrity of the legal medical record. They ensure compliance with System, State, Federal, and Regulatory requirements. This includes corrections, auditing, examining, reporting, and releasing information.
- Essential Functions of the Role
- + Assists HIM Director with department oversight and staff monitoring.
- Key Success Factors
- + Certified Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred. + Proficient computer and work processing skills. + Exceptional critical thinking skills. + Ability to review errors and problem solve. + Proven customer service skills. + Ability to work effectively with a variety of customers; to include physician, nurses, and patients.
