Job Description
As a Center Medical Specialist - EMT at ABC Healthcare's Grifols-affiliated plasma center, you will deliver hands-on patient and donor care in a fast-paced, outpatient setting. You'll perform medical screenings, obtain vitals, conduct basic assessments, and assist with phlebotomy to ensure safe, high-quality plasma collection. In this role, you will document care in EMR systems, monitor donor reactions, and escalate concerns to clinical leadership. You'll collaborate with nurses and technicians, uphold strict safety and infection-control standards, and contribute to a compassionate, team-focused environment that supports learning and career growth. Responsibilities Perform donor and patient medical screenings, including vitals and basic assessments Assist with phlebotomy and monitor donors during and after plasma collection Recognize and respond to donor reactions and escalate to clinical staff as needed Document all procedures and findings accurately in EMR systems Maintain strict infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards Operate and troubleshoot basic medical and collection equipment Educate donors on procedures, aftercare, and safety instructions Collaborate with nurses, technicians, and center staff to optimize workflow Support quality assurance initiatives and follow SOPs and clinical guidelines Contribute to a compassionate, team-oriented culture focused on patient and donor experience Required Skills Emergency medical assessment Patient triage Vital signs monitoring Venipuncture and phlebotomy Infection control Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Basic life support (BLS) Medical equipment operation Regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA, HIPAA) Infection control and safety protocols
