Job Description

Job Requirements A Day in the Life of a HIM Tech I The HIM Tech I provides basic functions required to assist with overall customer service, Release of Information (ROI), birth certificates and prepping, scanning, and indexing of current and archived medical records. What You Will Be Doing:
Fulfills non-complex ROI requests. Delivers excellent customer service via telephone and face-to-face interactions. Provides Release of Information assistance to customers/patients as needed to ensure accurate completion of required forms. Assists with MyChart activation as needed. Follows HIPAA, federal, and state regulations in Release of Information (ROI); enters requests according to department processes. Reviews, preps, and scans fetal monitor strips. Generates Care Everywhere codes and retrieves archived medical records as requested. Creates Radiology/Cardiology CD/DVDS and/or transmits images through electronic means. Gathers and reconciles discharged patient charts from the patient units, scans charts into OnBase and indexes to appropriate encounter/locations. Checks documents/images for accuracy and availability, corrects any missing or incorrect documents. Meets Quality and Productivity Standards per department expectations.
