Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently handling front desk operations. Candidate will manage appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic health record (EHR) systems while providing excellent patient service and maintaining smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures. Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software Verify insurance coverage, updating patient demographics and collection copay and balances Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, handling inquiries and routing calls efficiently. Maintain accurate medical records by organizing files, updating patient information in EMR system and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform filing of medical records and ensure proper documentation review for accuracy and completeness. General office duties as well to include maintaining a clean and tidy workspace Experience Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology Experience with health information management practices including HIPAA compliance and documentation review is required. Excellent clerical skills including filing, data entry, and managing multi-line phone systems are necessary. Proven ability to handle insurance verification processes accurately while maintaining a high level of customer service.
