Surgical Counselor Fayetteville, AR | Full-Time | Monday-Friday Starting at $17.00/hour DOE | Temp-to-Hire Help Patients Navigate Their Surgical Journey with Confidence! A busy and well-established specialty clinic in Muskogee is seeking a compassionate and organized Surgical Counselor to join their clinical team. This position serves as the primary point of contact for patients throughout the surgical scheduling and pre-operative process, ensuring every detail is coordinated for a smooth and positive patient experience. Responsibilities:

Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, pre-operative testing, and post-operative appointments. Serve as the liaison between patients, physicians, surgical facilities, and primary care providers. Educate patients on surgery preparation, required testing, and appointment timelines. Collect and verify all required surgical documentation, including insurance information, medical clearances, consent forms, laboratory results, EKGs, and imaging. Prepare and organize surgical packets and ensure all paperwork is submitted accurately and on time. Communicate surgery dates, appointment reminders, and procedural instructions to patients. Coordinate with surgical facilities regarding scheduling, documentation, and case details. Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Provide exceptional customer service while addressing patient questions and concerns throughout the surgical process.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Previous medical office or surgical scheduling experience preferred. Experience in ophthalmology or another surgical specialty is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification preferred. Strong computer skills and experience with electronic medical records. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor.
