Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using Open Dental practice management system. Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate patient flow, and manage office schedule to optimize daily operations. Handle all aspects of patient communication via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. Manage records and documentation review processes in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Process insurance claims, verify health insurance coverage including Medicare and Medicaid, and perform medical billing using knowledge of health insurance systems like Athenahealth or EMR/EHR management tools. Maintain accurate medical coding using CPT codes, ICD-9/10 codes, ensuring proper documentation for billing and care plans. Support administrative functions such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and maintaining organized medical records in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Assist with clinical confidentiality policies, health information management, and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations at all times. Requirements Minimum 1 year experience in a dental front desk role within a clinical setting. Knowledge of dental software (Open Dental or Dentrix preferred) Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure Familiarity with dental insurance and billing practices Reliable, professional, and eager to learnAbility to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus; fluency in additional languages enhances patient interactions. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA is mandatory. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
