Competitive and based on experience About Our Practice We are a family practice doctors office in Burbank looking for a friendly, dependable, professional, and experienced Medical Receptionist / Front Office & Clinical Support team member . The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a busy doctor's office and can provide excellent patient service while efficiently handling front-office responsibilities and assisting the clinical team when needed. We are looking for someone who is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to multitask. ResponsibilitiesFront Office & Patient Services Greet patients and provide a warm, professional first impression Answer and route incoming telephone calls Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments Check patients in and out Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Collect copays, deductibles, and other patient payments Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR/EHR Obtain required forms and signatures Handle incoming and outgoing faxes Maintain an organized and professional front desk Referrals & Insurance Process and follow up on patient referrals Coordinate specialist appointments and referral information Obtain insurance authorizations when required Submit and follow up on prior authorizations Communicate with insurance companies regarding eligibility, referrals, and authorizations Track outstanding referrals and authorizations to completion Prescription & Patient Communication Receive and appropriately route prescription refill requests Communicate prescription requests to the physician/clinical team according to office procedures Communicate with pharmacies when necessary Assist patients with questions regarding prescriptions, appointments, referrals, and office procedures Route clinical questions to the appropriate medical staff Clinical / Medical Assistant Support Depending on training and experience, assist the clinical team with: Rooming patients Obtaining and documenting vital signs Medication reconciliation Preparing examination rooms Assisting with basic clinical procedures as permitted by training and applicable requirements Preparing patients for physician examinations Updating medical histories and medication lists Performing other appropriate clinical-support duties under the direction of the physician or clinical staff QualificationsRequired Previous experience in a medical office, physician's office, or healthcare setting preferred Excellent patient-service and communication skills Professional telephone etiquette Strong computer and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a busy medical environment Strong attention to detail Dependable and punctual Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Ability to work effectively with physicians, clinical staff, patients, pharmacies, specialists, and insurance companies High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Family practice or internal medicine experience Medical receptionist/front-office experience Medical assistant experience or certification EMR/EHR experience Insurance verification experience Referral and prior-authorization experience Knowledge of medical terminology Experience handling prescription refill requests Experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial insurance Armenian-speaking is a plus Spanish-speaking is a plus Bilingual Armenian or Spanish skills are helpful but not required . We are looking for someone who can interact warmly with patients, communicate effectively with the physician and clinical team, stay organized under pressure, and take ownership of tasks from beginning to completion.
