Job Description

Semi retired physician, with a long established practice in Chico, hiring a part-time receptionist. Would like to find an individual with front office experience, and experience working with the Chico medical community. The practice is procedure oriented, typically no more than five patients per day are scheduled. Looking for an individual who wishes to work, but does not need a frantic pace. Small congenial office staff, and relaxed working environment. This would be a good fit for an individual who likes working with patients, but for whom full-time work is no longer the goal Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to do typical front desk tasks, such as check in patients, process new patient referrals, schedule patients, and prep exam room prior to rooming patients. Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and check-in patients
  • Accurately enter patient demographic and insurance information
  • Collect copays and patient balances
  • Answer phones, take messages, transfer calls
  • Schedule appointments and make confirmation calls to patients as needed
  • Process incoming / outgoing faxes and medical record requests Qualifications/Skills
  • At least 1 year work experience in a medical office environment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient with computer applications
