Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring a smooth patient experience, and providing essential administrative support within a medical office environment. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and familiarity with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. Duties Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups. Handle incoming calls using multi-line phone systems, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately. Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history. Process medical collections and perform insurance verification as needed. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with the review of care plans and ensure proper coding using
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, and other relevant coding systems. Utilize EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Office ally, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms to manage patient data effectively. Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and maintaining organized office records. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow and service delivery. Skills Proficient in medical terminology and documentation review. Experience with medical billing and coding practices. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Office Ally, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinic or hospital environment. Bilingual skills are a plus for enhancing patient communication. Previous experience in medical office management or administrative support is preferred. Knowledge of ALL insurances, deductibles, Co-pays. Knowledge of health information management practices is beneficial. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
