Founded by a board-certified, woman-owned pediatric dentist, our start-up practice emphasizes a supportive and nurturing environment where children feel safe and engaged in their dental health journey. A unique aspect of our practice is Pearl, our certified therapy Samoyed, who provides comfort to our young patients, especially those with special needs or dental anxiety. We specialize in pediatric dentistry, special needs care, and dental surgery, and are seeking compassionate, organized, and team-oriented team members who love working with children and families. As a start-up dental office, we are looking for someone innovative and goal oriented who would like to be part of our growth as a founding team member. Position Overview We are seeking a dental receptionist/patient care coordinator to manage our front desk operations and ensure a positive experience for our patients and their families. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills. This role is part-time, with the opportunity to transition into full-time as our practice grows.Key Responsibilities Front Desk Management:
- Greet and welcome patients and their families upon arrival, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
- Manage phone calls, respond to inquiries, and schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments as needed.
- Assist patients in completing necessary forms and documentation.
Patient Coordination:
- Verify patient insurance information and explain benefits and coverage to families.
- Collect payments, process billing, and address any financial inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Office Support:
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow and minimize wait times.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
- Help maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Patient Experience:
- Provide information to patients and families about dental procedures and oral health care.
- Partner with Pearl, our therapy dog, to comfort and engage patients as appropriate.
- Address patient concerns and ensure a positive experience for all visitors.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in office administration or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a dental or medical front office role is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software and basic office applications.
- A friendly, compassionate demeanor with a passion for working with children and families.
