This position combines front-office operations, dental insurance billing, patient scheduling, and treatment presentation. The ideal candidate is confident discussing treatment and financial arrangements, knowledgeable about dental insurance, and committed to creating an excellent patient experience. Key Responsibilities Welcome patients and provide professional, friendly service Answer incoming calls, respond to patient questions, and manage messages Schedule appointments efficiently and help maintain a productive provider schedule Confirm appointments and follow up with overdue recall and unscheduled treatment patients Verify dental insurance eligibility, coverage, frequencies, limitations, and benefit maximums Accurately enter insurance information and benefit details into the practice management system Prepare and submit dental insurance claims with required documentation Review outstanding claims, resolve denials, submit appeals, and follow up on unpaid claims Post insurance payments and explain insurance estimates to patients Present treatment plans clearly and confidently Review treatment costs, insurance estimates, payment options, and financing arrangements with patients Follow up with patients who have not scheduled recommended treatment Collect patient balances, copayments, and deposits Maintain accurate patient accounts, notes, and documentation Coordinate effectively with the dentist, assistants, and other team members Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements Support daily front-office operations and help improve practice systems and patient flow Required Qualifications At least two years of dental front-office experience Experience verifying dental insurance benefits and submitting claims Understanding of common dental terminology, procedures, and CDT codes Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing financial arrangements Strong communication, customer-service, and organizational skills Ability to communicate professionally with patients and insurance representatives Comfortable collecting payments and following up on outstanding balances High attention to detail and ability to manage several priorities Dependable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented Comfortable using dental practice-management software and standard office technology Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of dental front-office, billing, or treatment-coordination experience Experience with Open Dental or similar application Knowledge of PPO insurance plans, claim attachments, narratives, and appeals Experience with patient financing and payment arrangements What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is warm and reassuring with patients while also being confident, organized, and accountable.
