Our clinic values professionalism, compassion, and excellence in healthcare delivery. Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and personable Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional administrative support and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic health records systems, and a thorough understanding of medical administrative procedures. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Schedule appointments using clinic management software, including EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Verify patient insurance information and assist with medical billing and collections, including Medicare and health insurance claims. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records while adhering to HIPAA confidentiality policies. Handle incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately. Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy, supporting care plans and medical coding processes such as
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
coding. Manage clerical tasks including filing, data entry, 10-key typing, and maintaining organized medical records. Support clinical staff by providing administrative assistance related to medical office management and health information management. Skills Proven experience in medical reception or administrative support within a healthcare setting, preferably in a clinic or dental environment. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth. Familiarity with medical billing procedures, insurance verification, and collections processes. Understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and documentation review practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with strong computer skills for managing electronic health records. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Experience working in a clinical environment with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Pay:
$22.00 - $24.50 per hour
