This is a primarily front-office position , but being fully cross-trained is an important part of the role. We are a small, collaborative team, and we want someone who is comfortable owning the front desk day-to-day while also being able to confidently step into the back office and assist when needed. Primary Role — Front Office Your day-to-day responsibilities will primarily include: Answering phones and communicating with patients Scheduling and confirming appointments Managing the schedule and keeping the day running efficiently Checking patients in and out Treatment plan presentation and financial discussions Collecting payments Dental insurance verification and benefit breakdowns Following up on unscheduled treatment Helping fill cancellations and openings in the schedule Coordinating patient care between the doctor and clinical team Providing an excellent patient experience from the first phone call through checkout Cross-Trained Clinical Responsibilities Because this position requires an active California RDA license , you should also be comfortable stepping into the clinical role when needed, including: Chairside assisting Taking digital radiographs Setting up and breaking down operatories Sterilization and infection-control protocols Taking impressions/scans when appropriate Assisting with general and cosmetic dental procedures Supporting clinical patient flow when the back office needs additional help You will not normally be expected to split your day 50/50 between front and back. Your primary position is front office. However, we are specifically looking for someone who has the clinical skills and flexibility to step into the back office when another team member is absent or additional support is needed.
What We're Looking For Required:
Active California RDA license Dental front-office experience Chairside dental assisting experience Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures Experience with scheduling and patient communication Comfortable discussing treatment and finances with patients Reliable, organized, and able to multitask Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed Strongly preferred: Dental insurance verification experience Treatment coordination experience Experience collecting patient balances and presenting financial arrangements Experience in a private dental practice Familiarity with digital dentistry and modern dental technology We are looking for someone who is warm with patients, organized at the front desk, clinically capable, and genuinely comfortable wearing more than one hat . This is a great position for an RDA who understands the clinical side of dentistry but enjoys patient communication, scheduling, treatment coordination, and the business side of a dental practice.
