Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Office Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. In this pivotal role, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic, ensuring smooth daily operations from patient check-in to appointment scheduling. Your energetic approach and exceptional customer service skills will help create a positive experience for every patient. You will manage a variety of administrative tasks, coordinate with clinical staff, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly and welcoming environment at the front desk Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems such as Epic or Meditech Verify patient insurance coverage and process medical billing using systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle financial transactions efficiently Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately Review documentation for accuracy, including medical history forms, treatment plans, and insurance information Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure timely updates in electronic health record (EHR) management systems Assist with administrative support tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and managing office supplies Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and support clinic operations Experience Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred, especially within a clinical setting such as a dental clinic Demonstrated proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing procedures Familiarity with health information management standards and clinical confidentiality policies aligned with HIPAA regulations Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and typing skills including 10-key typing for efficient data entry Bilingual abilities are considered an asset to better serve diverse patient populations Exceptional customer service skills combined with clerical experience in office management or front desk roles within healthcare settings Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate care through efficient administrative support.
