We are seeking a dependable and personable Front Dental Receptionist who takes pride in providing excellent customer service and helping the office operate efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, composed, attentive to detail, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a busy dental practice. Position Overview The Front Dental Receptionist is often the first and last person our patients interact with. This team member is responsible for creating a positive patient experience while supporting the daily administrative and scheduling needs of the practice. The right candidate will communicate professionally, follow established office procedures, maintain accurate records, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities Welcome patients and provide a professional, friendly check-in and check-out experience Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously Respond to patient messages and return calls in a timely manner Schedule and confirm patient appointments Maintain an accurate and productive dental schedule Verify patient demographic and insurance information Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances Present routine financial information clearly and professionally Enter accurate notes and documentation into the patient management system Monitor the office email, voicemail, and patient communication systems Process new-patient information and ensure required forms are completed Coordinate with the clinical and treatment coordination teams Assist with maintaining an orderly and welcoming reception area Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Follow established office policies, workflows, and financial protocols Complete assigned administrative duties accurately and on time Qualifications Previous dental front-office experience is strongly preferred Experience with Open Dental or similar dental software is preferred Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance procedures is beneficial Strong telephone, written, and interpersonal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a busy environment Reliable attendance and punctuality Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to remain calm and courteous when handling patient concerns Comfortable receiving feedback and following standardized office procedures Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team High school diploma or equivalent required Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate: Is warm, confident, and professional with patients Understands that accuracy and follow-through are essential Communicates clearly with patients and coworkers Takes initiative without exceeding assigned authority Is dependable and arrives prepared to work Can manage interruptions while maintaining attention to detail Supports office policies and works well within clearly defined roles Recognizes the importance of maintaining patient confidence and trust Schedule This is a full-time position.
