We are a small, close-knit radiation therapy team dedicated to delivering compassionate, state-of-the-art care to patients on the Central Coast. Because our team is small, every person's contribution has a direct and meaningful impact on the patient experience. About the Role Fulltime Medical Receptionist needed for radiation oncology physician office located in San Luis Obispo. Great fulltime opportunity for a professional, motivated, hardworking, and reliable person with strong computer literacy (Office applications/spreadsheets, EMR), medical terminology, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Communicate with patients, face-to-face or by telephone. Answers the telephone and forwards any calls to appropriate individuals. Schedules and processes referrals. Communicate with patients, staff, insurance carriers and other outside entities in a professional manner. Responds professionally to patient concerns, i.e., pleasant tone of voice, courteous language, etc. Maintains privacy and confidentiality. Follows company policies and procedures. Reports to work on time and as scheduled. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; some post-secondary preferred. Excellent verbal and communication skills needed. Understanding of medical terminology preferred. Certified MA preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods. May include performing repetitive tasks. May include working with challenging patients and clients.
