Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated, smart, and organized Dental/Medical Receptionist to join our team. The role includes being responsible for managing the front desk operations, including ensuring a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently handling administrative tasks. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in or ability to learn our dental software. Duties Greet patients upon arrival and manage the check-in process Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments Handle patient inquiries via phone, text, and in-person while maintaining excellent etiquette Balance multi-line telephone calls while also managing in-person patient needs. Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing Maintain strict confidentiality with patient information Perform medical/dental billing and coding tasks, including CDT/CPT and ICD-10 coding Review clinical documentation for completeness before filing Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient flow and service delivery Utilize EMR systems for patient management Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Bilingual, English and Spanish. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role. No experience but a quick learner? We want to hear from you, too. Must be amicable and respectful to coworkers and patients. Familiarity with medical terminology, dental terminology, and health information preferred Strong computer skills and experience in multi-line phone systems Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes is a plus Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively About us: This is for a small, doctor owned clinic in Santa Barbara. Hours are for in-person, four days a week. Schedule is Tueseday through Friday, 7:30-3:30 PM PTO, paid sick leave, health benefits, and 401k after initial probationary period. Parking on site
