In this role, you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator that ensures smooth daily operations. Your primary focus will be managing patient appointments, verifying insurance, handling medical records, and providing exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding customer service at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment. Schedule patient appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflow. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and HIPAA compliance, ensuring accurate billing and coding with CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes. Manage medical records and documentation review, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Handle multi-line phone systems efficiently, addressing patient inquiries regarding appointments, billing, or insurance matters with professionalism. Perform insurance verification and pre-authorizations using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth to streamline patient visits. Assist with medical billing processes including collection of payments and follow-up on outstanding accounts using electronic health record (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech. Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, dental charts, and administrative documents while supporting office management tasks as needed. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Office Assistant with strong clinic experience in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and health information management practices. Proficiency in dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient confidentiality and documentation review. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10-key). Strong phone etiquette, customer service skills, and ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently. Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse patient populations. Office management experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; clinic or hospital experience is advantageous.
