Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ months working in a customer service-based role
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience working in a customer service role
- 1+ year working in a healthcare office setting
General Role Description:
- As a Medical Receptionist I , you will be responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting; performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care, including greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, collecting patient co-pays and insurance payments, processing paperwork, and performing other front office duties as required in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and direct them to appropriate departments.
- Answer multiple phone lines, direct calls, and take messages as needed.
- Verify patient information and insurance eligibility; collect payments.
- Direct patients to complete forms and process patient-related paperwork.
- Inform the provider's assistant of no-shows and cancellations.
- Make follow-up appointments for patients and call patients to confirm appointments.
- Contact "bumped" patients and reschedule appointments as appropriate.
- Perform various front-office duties in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment as assigned.
