GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Business Office Support Specialist will be primarily responsible for precertification of radiology requests and Hyaluronic Acid Injections per doctors' orders. This position will report to the Practice Manager, and will cover and provide support to each position within the Business Office (Surgical Scheduling, Pre-Authorization, and Worker's Compensation) Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (no weekends)

Obtain precertification for radiology procedures Obtain precertification and schedule Hyaluronic Injections in appropriate time slot, with appropriate provider Provides patients with information regarding injection frequency Responsible for verifying insurance benefits, obtaining precertification, and accurately documenting such information in patient charts Order medication, keep record of inventory of medications in main office and satellite offices Interfaces with appropriate medication representatives Schedule PRP injections, collect payment up front, maintain inventory of PRP injection kits Provides coverage/support for radiology precertification, medical records, workers compensation/legal, FMLA/disability, surgical and epidural scheduling Other duties as assigned

Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment Strong sensory skills, such as visual acuity, good hearing, and dexterity Ability to stand and sit for periods of time and to move constantly throughout the workday Good speaking and listening skills Ability to perform focused work with close attention to detail Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and phones Ability to interact with others, both in person and through phone, e-mail, and written correspondence Ability to push, pull, lift, move, and/or carry up to 15 lbs
Education and Experience:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent Prior experience in healthcare required; thorough understanding of medical terminology preferred. Knowledge of medical insurance and familiarity with electronic medical records highly desired Ability to adapt well to changes, as we implement new technology High degree of composure and interpersonal skills Devoted to teamwork and portraying the company in a very positive manner Maintain proper, courteous, and helpful telephone etiquette Organized, accountable, self-motivated, and attentive to detail Excellent written, verbal , interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work under pressure and accurately prioritize problems & initiatives Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) OrthoConnecticut, delivering exceptional care and real results has always been our mission, though we did things a little differently when we opened our doors in 1954.
