Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills, a commitment to providing high-quality patient care, and the ability to handle administrative tasks with precision.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner. Schedule and manage appointments to optimize time and resources. Answer phone calls and emails, providing information or redirecting inquiries to the appropriate staff members. Verify patient information and ensure all documentation is up to date. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with healthcare regulations (HIPAA). Assist patients with insurance verification and billing questions. Organize and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Handle patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring a smooth workflow. Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate patient care and communication. Provide administrative support to medical professionals and office staff as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support office operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities. Compassionate and empathetic nature with a strong focus on patient care. Proficient in office management software (e.g., scheduling systems, medical record systems). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus.
Additional Skills/Traits:
Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Comfortable working with a diverse range of patients and healthcare professionals. Proficient in medical scheduling and managing patient appointments. Familiarity with electronic health records systems. One requirement is that this position needs to have the ability to work at our 3 office locations.
