Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of dental office operations, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient service. As a Dental Receptionist, you will manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, handle administrative tasks, and ensure smooth clinic workflow while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment at the front desk. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Collect payments, process billing, and manage medical collections in accordance with HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards. Maintain accurate and organized patient records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and ensure proper documentation review. Answer multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette and handle patient inquiries promptly. Assist with administrative support tasks including filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR) management. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and support clinic operations effectively. Ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management protocols. Requirements Prior experience in dental office settings or medical administrative support is highly preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and insurance verification processes. Strong computer skills with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms like Meditech or Epic. Knowledge of health insurance policies including Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, typing (10 key typing), and office management tasks. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
