Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Check-In specialist to serve as the welcoming face of our healthcare facility. In this vital role, you will manage patient arrivals, ensure accurate documentation, verify patient insurances and facilitate seamless communication between patients and clinical staff. Your energetic approach and excellent organizational skills will help create a positive first impression, streamline administrative processes, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures efficiently. Collect and review patient information, ensuring accuracy in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Sevocity, MedClarity, or other EMR platforms. Obtain and document insurance information, verify coverage, and facilitate medical billing processes including Medicare and health insurance claims. Manage patient scheduling using medical office management software; coordinate appointments to optimize clinic flow. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions and documentation review. Assist with medical records management, filing, and retrieval while ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Support clinical staff by preparing documentation for care plans, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and other medical billing tasks. Handle phone communication professionally using proper phone etiquette; respond promptly to patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately. Perform basic clerical duties such as data entry (10 key typing), filing, and managing electronic health records with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow from check-in through checkout; support the documentation review process for accuracy. Skills Proven experience in medical office administration or front desk roles within clinics or dental practices. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms. Familiarity with health insurance processes including Medicare claims and health information management. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor; capable of handling sensitive situations with professionalism. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to assist diverse patient populations effectively. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and documentation review procedures. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; adept at typing quickly (10 key) and managing electronic health records efficiently. Ability to maintain clinical confidentiality at all times while managing medical records and sensitive information. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, data entry, and appointment scheduling. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
