Emerald Coast Infectious Diseases / America Medical group are looking for a
PART TIME
medical receptionist for our busy Infectious Diseases office located in Crestview, working full days Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in the practice. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing patient scheduling, maintaining accurate medical records, verifying insurance information, and supporting the clinical team to ensure efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced in a healthcare setting. Our Crestview location is also equipped with a Wound Care center and IV suite - primarily specializing in Infectious Diseases, with Podiatry rotating out 1 day per week Key Responsibilities Patient Reception & Customer Service Greet patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries. Check patients in and out for appointments. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patients with forms, instructions, and educational materials as needed. Scheduling & Registration Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Coordinate follow-up visits, infusions, injections, laboratory appointments, and referrals. Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information. Manage appointment reminders and patient communication. Insurance & Administrative Support Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments. Obtain prior authorizations and referrals when required. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances. Process patient paperwork, disability forms, and medical records requests. Scan, file, and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR). Medical Records & Documentation Maintain accurate patient information within the EMR system. Ensure all required documentation is completed before patient visits. Assist providers and clinical staff with administrative tasks as assigned. Monitor provider schedules to optimize patient flow and clinic efficiency. Team Collaboration Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, and billing staff. Assist in resolving patient concerns and scheduling conflicts. Support clinic operations to maintain a positive patient experience.
Preferred:
Knowledge of medical terminology Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EHR) systems and Microsoft office applications
Qualifications:
