Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a competent and organized individual to fill the position of Medical Front Desk Receptionist. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet Patients:
Welcome patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they enter the facility.
Appointment Scheduling:
Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently using electronic scheduling systems, ensuring proper documentation of all appointments and necessary information.
Patient Registration:
Collect patient information, verify insurance coverage, and ensure all necessary forms are completed accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Answer Inquiries:
Respond to patient inquiries in person, over the phone, or via email, providing information about services, appointment availability, and general practice policies.
Manage Incoming Calls:
Handle incoming calls promptly and professionally, routing calls to the appropriate department or staff member as needed.
Maintain Patient Records:
Ensure patient records are up-to-date and accurately maintained, including scanning and filing documents into electronic health record systems.
Insurance Verification:
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information for billing purposes.
Billing and Payments:
Process patient payments, collect co-pays, and assist with billing inquiries, liaising with billing department as necessary.
Medical Records Requests:
Process requests for medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Office Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
Assist Staff:
Provide administrative support to medical staff as needed, including assisting with paperwork, scheduling tests or procedures, and facilitating communication between patients and providers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in medical administration preferred. Proven experience in a medical office setting or customer service role preferred. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and visitors. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and HIPAA regulations preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical standards of conduct.

Full-time Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
