Job description Medical Receptionist About us Tres Vision Group is a comprehensive medical and surgical eye practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of vision disorders. Primary Responsibilities
- Greet patients with a smile and treat them with respect.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments while collecting all pertinent information from patient and enter into computer.
- Confirm next day's appointments and check authorizations have been approved.
- Call and reschedule patients that no-show and fill open slots.
- Check charts, prepping all add-ons including insurance verification.
- Check out patients, verifying follow-up care has been given, schedule follow up.
- Document patient requests and send to appropriate team members.
- Ensure reception area is clean and tidy throughout the day and sanitize surfaces and handles frequently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
- Proficient in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrates empathy and attentiveness to each patient's individual needs and concerns.
- Able to work effectively in high-pressure situations and respond appropriately to emergencies. Other Skills and Abilities
- Warmly greets and attends to patients in person and over the phone
- Professionally assists doctors, staff, vendors, visitors, and patients
- Performs all duties following HIPAA regulations
- Tracks patients in reception area and communicates with them as necessary
- Scan patient insurance cards and driver's license
- Ensures proper authorization or referral is collected
- Evaluate chart data to verify the accuracy of received information
- Ability to use technology efficiently.
- Provides backup support for call center phones.
- Collect co-pays, refraction fees or outstanding balances during check-in, maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Notify the clinical team when a patient is ready for work up
- Records patients' arrival time and ensures timely appointments.
- Enter new patient demographics into the EMR system
