Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Schedule appointments efficiently while managing the clinic calendar to optimize patient flow and reduce wait times. Collect and process patient payments, insurance information, and perform medical billing and coding using
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review and update medical records accurately, ensuring all documentation aligns with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing clear communication regarding appointment scheduling, test results, or follow-up instructions. Assist with insurance claims processing, verifying coverage for Medicare and other health plans while maintaining detailed documentation review. Support clinical staff by managing medical supplies inventory, filing records, and maintaining electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to foster a welcoming environment for patients and visitors. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role; clinic or dental clinic experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential. Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), billing procedures, and health insurance processes including Medicare claims. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy with 10-key proficiency. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Strong organizational skills with clerical experience involving filing, documentation review, and office management tasks. Exceptional interpersonal skills to provide outstanding patient service while managing front desk operations efficiently.
