Medical Front Desk / Patient Coordinator ChiangWell Medical, LLC | Plantation, FL Full-Time | In-Person ChiangWell Medical is a growing healthcare practice in Plantation, Florida, seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Medical Front Desk / Patient Coordinator to join our team. This is much more than simply answering phones and checking patients in. Our front desk is the center of communication for our practice and plays an important role in both the patient experience and the daily operation of the office. We are looking for someone who is warm and welcoming with patients, highly organized , clean and confident enough to take ownership of the front desk. Strong medical insurance verification experience is a MUST. The right person will be a self-starter who does not need to be told every small thing that needs to be done. We want someone who can anticipate needs, solve problems, prioritize responsibilities, and help keep the office running smoothly. What You'll Be Responsible For Providing a warm, professional welcome to every patient who enters the office Checking patients in and out Answering and managing incoming telephone calls Scheduling, confirming, and managing patient appointments Maintaining an organized and efficient patient schedule Verifying medical insurance eligibility and benefits Accurately identifying and documenting copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and other patient financial responsibilities Communicating insurance benefit information clearly and professionally to patients Maintaining accurate patient demographic and insurance information Collecting and documenting patient payments Assisting new patients with paperwork and intake requirements Monitoring the schedule and helping prevent gaps, delays, and avoidable scheduling problems Communicating with providers and staff regarding patient needs Handling patient information with discretion and maintaining strict confidentiality Following HIPAA requirements and office policies Handling multiple priorities without allowing the patient experience to suffer Recognizing problems and taking appropriate action rather than waiting to be told what to do Providing administrative support to the doctor and management as needed Helping maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming office environment Insurance Verification Is an Important Part of This Position Candidates should be comfortable contacting insurance companies and using online insurance portals to verify benefits and eligibility. You should understand common insurance terminology and be comfortable working with: Copays Deductibles Coinsurance Eligibility Effective and termination dates In-network and out-of-network benefits Patient financial responsibility Benefit limitations and visit limits Prior authorization requirements when applicable If you have never verified medical insurance benefits before, this position may not be the right fit.
